DAL PALAK

Dal palak

ingredients:

1 bunch Spinach (Palak) finely ch0pped
1/2 cup toor dal
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1 pinch asafetida
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp red chilli powder
salt
1 garlic clove finely chopped
1 inch jaggery

preparation:

1. cook dal in a cooker.
2. heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, asafetida, garlic and saute till garlic emits strong aroma.
3. add spinach to it and saute till spinach reduces to 1/5 of its original quantity.
4. add dal to it and let it boil.
5. add salt and jaggery in the end
